Suzuki Strikes a Big Deal in India

It seems like Suzuki is forming new partnerships ever day, and their latest could prove to be a a real game changer for the Japanese automaker. More specifically, they've signed a deal with Fiat that will allow them to use the Italian automaker's engines in vehicles that are sold in India.

This may seem like an odd choice at first, but Ray Price Suzuki is really quite excited for the prospects. First of all, doing this saves Suzuki money on development costs. Second, it allows them access to different technology that will benefit the development of future models. And third, it helps the consumers in those regions because they have easier access to efficient and dynamic diesel engines that Fiat produces.

Why diesel? The fuel is actually cheaper than regular gasoline in the region, and the trend is quickly spreading to other markets as well. While Diesel used to be more expensive, it remained a viable choice for motorists thanks to its cleaner and slower-burning nature. The best part, however, about this move is that it continues to support jobs at Suzuki in the realm of production. The engines will still need to be constructed, as Suzuki is only paying for the parts and the right to use them in their engines.

Right now, Suzuki is planning to purchase the parts for about 100,000 engines from the Italian automaker for use in the Swift, Ritz, Dzire and SX4. However, you can rest assured that the new Suzuki models that are available here at Ray Price Suzuki in Mt. Pocono are made entirely by Suzuki. However, don't be surprised if their quality improves even more in the near future thanks to this new partnership.
