Just in time for the Tokyo Auto Show, Suzuki is ready to show off not one, but three futuristic and totally green "City Cars." City or urban vehicles are designed to be small, fitting into tight metro area streets, and built to leave a minimal carbon footprint.
First off is the Regina, a lightweight city car. It seats 4 but only weighs 1,609 lbs. Its size results in an average mileage of 72.3 mpg. According to the auto maker, "Inside, there's a minimalist cabin with touch-screen panels and a clear glass floating stack for the main center console."1
Next up is the Q Concept. This stylized EV is for those who travel 6 miles or less to work and back every day. Q is powered by a small "electric power source" - inside, there is only room for two.
Suzuki's third and final concept is a range-extended Suzuki Swift EV. With a fully charged lithium-ion battery, Swift EV will be able to travel between 12 and 18 miles before switching to gas.
